Step 15: Key external references & tools

Well - might as well toss in the phone directory while at it!  For you young'ins a phone directory is a book with phone numbers from the previous century.

Some of my favorite external resources:

• Dulfy.net: this is the key site for anyting SWTOR for guides, news and such.  Essential to your balanced breakfast.
• Dulfy's guide to companion affection (sooooo useful when you bring one from 1 to 50)
• 5.2 Operations boss loot table
• Gearing guides:
• Up to 5.0 / 242 gear level (ye olde Bant spreadsheet)
• Up to 5.2 / 248 gear level (based on ye olde Bant)
• Video guides (DPS & stuff worth a look)
• Outfit & stuff visual database, for those Barbie moments

Some key tools to help out being a tad better much moreness damage ooo moar moar:

• StarParse: combat log parsing tool or in other words see how effective you are, start with the parsing dummy (on fleet or add one to your ship silly)
• For hardmode & nightmare many folks view this as mandatory
• Great for training in groups, if you see a DPS dealing less boo-boo's than tanks & healers time for some instruction or wooden ruler love, your pick.
• Parsely: the companion site to StarParse to see how you fare Vs other players on servers & situations

Audio chatting:

• TeamSpeak: the most widely used chat client in SWTOR these days, make sure you get it before getting into raids
• Discord: the up & coming chat client.  Love it as it's free, has web-based client, free iOS / Android versions and easy to use.  Free as well.  Did I say free?
